What A Consultation Entails
An initial consolation is used to assess your goals, needs, fitness level and preferences. It also is a great opportunity to see if we will work well together and be a good fit. Here is what we typically cover:
1. Assessment of Goals
We begin by discussing your fitness objectives, whether it's weight loss, muscle gain, improved athletic performance, or general health and wellness. Understanding your goals provides a foundation for developing a targeted training program.
2. Health History and Screening:
Next, we will gather information about your medical history, injuries, limitations, and any pre-existing conditions. This helps identify potential risks or contraindications and ensures that the workout plan is safe and appropriate.
3. Fitness Assessment:
We do a fitness assessment to evaluate your current fitness level, strength, flexibility, cardiovascular health, and body composition. This assessment involves simple exercises and mobility tests.
4. Discussion of Preferences and Lifestyle:
We will discuss your past fitness experiences, schedule constraints, dietary habits, stress levels, and overall lifestyle factors. This information helps tailor the workout plan to fit seamlessly into your life.
5. Setting Expectations:
I will go over what you can expect from the training program, including frequency of sessions, duration, intensity, and progression. We will also discuss the role of nutrition, recovery, and consistency in achieving desired results.
6. Discussion of Logistics:
If we feel that we are a good fit to work together will we discuss practical matters such as rates, scheduling sessions, cancellation policies, to ensure clarity and transparency.
7. Goal Setting and Action Plan:
Based on the information gathered, I will collaborate with you to set realistic and achievable short-term and long-term goals. Then outline a roadmap for progress, detailing the steps and milestones along the way. Overall, an initial consultation is a comprehensive and collaborative process aimed at laying the groundwork for a successful fitness journey. It provides an opportunity to assess your needs, establish clear objectives, and chart a path towards sustainable health and wellness.
What You Can Expect from One-On-One Training
1. Customized Workout Plans:
I provide 50 minute one-one-one training sessions. Unlike group classes or generic workout routines, one-on-one sessions are entirely personalized. After your initial fitness assessment, I will be able to create a workout plan specifically tailored to your target strengths, weakness, and objectives. Whether you're aiming to lose weight, build muscle or improve overall fitness, your workout will be designed to help you reach your goals effectively.
2. Accountability:
Staying consistent with your fitness regimen can be tough. There will be challenging times when you will not be motivated, or you just might feel overwhelmed. Which is why I will be there not only holding you accountable, but also trouble shooting any obstacles that come up along the way. I have found most people who have appointments scheduled are significantly more consistent than people who do not. Consistency is key in achieving results.
3. Individual Attention:
With my undivided attention you will receive constant guidance and feedback through each session. I’ll ensure you maintain proper form and adjust exercises according to your progress and limitations. Also, I strive for you to laugh and have a bit of fun!
4. Progress Tracking:
I will monitor your performance, track your changes in fitness level and (goal dependent) do body composition measurements. By tracking your progress, we can see any improvements or challenges along the way and adjust your workout plan accordingly.
5. Nutritional Guidance:
Achieving your fitness goals goes beyond just exercise, nutrition plays a vital role as well. We will discuss your nutrition and any challenges you might have with it regarding your health goals. Then, if need be, I will give you guidance and suggestions on changes you can make to achieve your goals.
